Shurooq gears up to announce one of the region’s largest ecological tourism projects

Shurooq finalizes preparations to participate in ATM 2012 Al Sarkal: We will exhibit a number of new projects and promising opportunities
Shurooq has just finalized the design of its exhibition stand for the event, which will be located inside the Sharjah's pavilion, alongside a number of travel and tourism organizations representing the emirate at the 2012 ATM. Shurooq intends to announce one of the region's largest ecological tourism projects, which is scheduled to be carried out in the emirate of Sharjah. The announcement will be made at a press conference that will be organized at the Dubai World Trade Centre on the second day of ATM 2012. Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq, said: "ATM is one of the premier international travel and tourism events that attracts huge numbers of international exhibitors. It is an ideal networking platform for exhibitors to meet up with travel and tourism professionals and agencies to exchange ideas and explore new ways of cooperation and investment in this sector". Shurooq's CEO also commented, "Our participation at the ATM will be distinguished this year, as we will showcase a number of new tourism projects and promising investment opportunities in Sharjah. We are preparing to announce a new environmental tourism project which will be carried out in Sharjah, This project will be one of the largest tourism enterprises in the region." He added, "Through its stand at the ATM 2012, Shurooq intends to launch a large scale promotional campaign for a host of projects under development in the emirate of Sharjah. These projects include the completed Al Majaz Waterfront, one of the primary tourism destinations in the country, in addition to the Heart of Sharjah, the region's largest tourism and heritage project, the Chedi Khorfakkan in the Eastern Region, Al Qasba, the premier tourism, culture and art destination in the emirate and many more new tourism projects that will be discussed with experts and investors during the exhibition." A number of new tourism initiatives will be promoted such as the tour bus initiative recently announced in cooperation with City Sightseeing Worldwide - the world's leading city tour bus company, in addition to the seaplane initiative, as well as other initiatives which will help further enhance Sharjah's position on the region's tourism map and offer new tourism attractions to the tourists coming to Sharjah. Al Sarkal clarified that Shurooq will promote a number of new investment opportunities in Sharjah's travel and tourism sector through offering professional studies conducted by Shurooq and introducing the emirate's components as an attractive business and investment destination. He noted that Shurooq will focus on holding meetings with heads and members of the participating delegations and representatives of hotels, agencies and investors to exchange views with the aim to expand cooperation in all areas of tourism sector and update them on the recent developments in Sharjah's tourism infrastructure which made the industry of tourism one of the most promising economic sectors and a main contributor to the development and sustainable growth. Shurooq will screen a number of documentary films on the emirate of Sharjah and its various economic sectors and will provide detailed information about all the investment sectors in the emirate. Shurooq was established in 2009 with the aim of achieving social, cultural, environmental and economic development on the basis of Sharjah's distinct Arab and Islamic identity, and to encourage investment by adopting the best international standards in providing quality services that help attract investors from the region and the world. Shurooq's key mission is to provide facilities and incentives to help overcome obstacles facing investment activities in the Emirate, evaluate tourism-related infrastructure projects, and lay down the necessary plans to complete such projects.
