Al Sarkal: Efforts are being made to facilitate vehicular traffic flow and to ensure most services remain available throughout development process
Road contracting and landscape and architecture development were awarded to six establishments. Sharjah Group for Construction Consulting will be responsible for road contracting, WSP Middle East for road engineering, Ghesa S.A for fountain development, Wael Al Masri Planners and Architects (WMPA) for architecture development, Sharjah Municipality for landscape and park design, and the Directorate of Public Works for supervising coordination efforts between developers of the project. Shurooq CEO H.E. Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal said of Al Majaz Park Development: "The initial development work for the project is progressing well, and the selected contractors were chosen based on high work standards, which will ensure that the project is completed accurately and on schedule. Further details will be announced in due course". "Looking at the vital importance of the project, development works were given to developers with experience in developing various local, regional and international projects, and we are confident that this project will elevate Al Majaz Park to amongst the biggest and most exciting touristic parks in the region," added Al Sarkal. Development work at Al Majaz began with the commencement of digging works necessary to prepare the project site for development. Efforts are being made to facilitate vehicular traffic flow and to make most of the services provided by Al Majaz Park and Khalid Lake available throughout the development process. Phase 1 of the project will see the construction of a large musical fountain in Lake Khalid and the addition of numerous buildings and amenities such as food outlets, cafes and entertainment establishments. Phase 1 is expected to be completed by November, before the launch of the Sharjah Water Festival and the F-1 Powerboat World Championship. Phase 2 will see the addition of six new restaurants, a children's entertainment area and beautiful landscapes designed by famous international landscape designers.
