As part of the celebration of the 42nd and the 43rd U.A.E. National Day, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) inaugurated four flag squares with 75-meter high flagpoles each flag square location was carefully selected based on the guidance of his highness the ruler of Sharjah
These flags were raised in Sharjah’s main cities: Kalba, Al Dhaid, Dibba Al Hisn and KhorFakkan, on the 2nd of December 2013 and 2014, during special ceremonies held in the four cities in the presence of a number of senior government officials and directors from the emirate of Sharjah along with the cities’ residents
Implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member
of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish national and tourist destinations in the Emirate of Sharjah’s four cities, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) inaugurated the Flag Square in Kalba on September 2, 2013.
The event marked the celebrations of the 42ndUAE National Day, another shining chapter in the history of Emirati citizens, which underlines their support and endorsement of the Union and its achievements towards growth and prosperity.
The UAE flag was raised high on the imposing 75-meter flagpole, unique Corniche location overlooks Kalba Lagoon, The Mangrove and Al Hafiya Reserves. It’s the first landmark that visitors see as they come into Kalba City.
Shurooq is keen to transform the flag squares into special destinations through the on-going development and establishment of state-of-the-art facilities, transforming them into national attractions, ideal for hosting national celebrations and ceremonies, as well as tourist destinations that attract visitors from inside the country and abroad.
